What are the differences between the 2019 Ford Explorer Limited, Sport, and Platinum trim levels?
Two of the three engines in the Ford Explorer lineup are represented in the Limited, Sport, and Platinum trim levels. The 2019 Ford Explorer Limited is powered by a 280-horsepower 2.3-liter EcoBoost® I-4 engine, while the Sport and Platinum trims are powered by a 365-horsepower 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 engine. Each of these engines is paired with a standard 6-speed SelectShift® Automatic transmission system.
Ford Explorer Limited models are fitted with Premium Luster Nickel-Painted Aluminum 20-inch wheels and a bright silver painted mesh insert grille with chrome bars. 20-inch Machined Aluminum wheels with Painted Pockets are standard on the 2019 Explorer Sport that also bears a high gloss black mesh insert grille, unique EXPLORER badging on its hood, and Quad Chrome exhaust tips. The 2019 Ford Explorer Platinum wears 20-inch Bright Machined Face Aluminum wheels with dark Tarnish-Painted Pockets along with a unique satin-chrome finish grille, and Quad Chrome exhaust tips.
A 12-speaker audio system from Sony® fills the cabin of the Explorer Limited and Sport with crystal-clear tunes while the Platinum model offers even crisper sound with the Premium Sound System from Sony® with Clear Phase and Live Acoustics.
